We’d like to hear what you think about our proposals to build Havant Thicket Reservoir. So, we’re running a month-long public consultation from 11 May. We’ll use your feedback to help shape the planning application which we’re looking to submit later this year.
We’ve thought carefully about going ahead with the consultation at this time, However, after discussions with the local planning authorities, we felt it was important to move forward with our plans for the reservoir, to safeguard future water supplies and create a new green, leisure space for local communities.
So that you can find out more and put your questions to our team, we’re running a series of live webinars, which you can sign up for now, as per the details below. The webinars will include a series of short videos on key topics, such as the reservoir for leisure, the reservoir and the environment and how we’ll build the reservoir. In between the films, there’ll be Question & Answer sessions, so you can ask our experts about anything you want to know more on.
Saturday 16 May 2pm-4pm
Tuesday 19 May 10am-12pm
Friday 22 May 10am-12pm
Wednesday 3 June 2pm-4pm
Thursday 4 June 6pm-8pm
It’s easy to take part in a webinar via your desktop or laptop computer, tablet device (such as an iPad or Android equivalent) or smartphone (both Android and iPhone). Due to the number of people we’re expecting to join each webinar, you won’t be able to appear on video or speak – only the Portsmouth Water team will be on camera, with sound. However, you will be able to send us your questions by typing them into the webinar system’s Q&A tool, so that our team can answer them. Please also note that the webinars will be recorded, so that the recordings can be shared via our website for people to watch.
To get the most out of the webinar, we’d strongly suggest that you download a small piece of software for the Zoom webinar system we are using. We’d recommend doing this ahead of the day of the webinar. The software is available for free via the Google Play Store (for Android devices) or the Apple Store (for Apple devices). Then, all you’ll need to do to join the webinar at the scheduled date / time is click on the link you’ll be sent once you’ve completed our webinar sign up process. If you need technical advice, this can be found on the Zoom website.
There’ll also be lots of consultation information on our website and social media channels, including access to a ‘virtual exhibition’. People will also be able to get in touch with us by phone, email and post and request a printed copy of our consultation brochure and feedback form.
