We’ve been providing your water for over 160 years, and we’re committed to securing safe and reliable drinking water for generations to come.
By 2075 we anticipate having around 40 percent less water available, while needing to supply 208 million litres per day to an increased population of 949,000 people in 442,000 homes and businesses.

Reducing leaks is a priority for everyone. In fact, you asked us to halve leakage sooner, so we’ve committed to doing this 10 years earlier than planned and we’ll reduce leaks by 16% by 2030. By improving our infrastructure and giving customers smart water meters, by 2040 we’re aiming to save up to 22 million litres every single day.
Smart water meters will help save 25 million litres of precious water by 2033. We’ll be able to find and fix leaks faster than ever before, while giving you the tools and near real-time insights to help you use water more efficiently.
Did you know that people in our region use an average of 154 litres of water a day—one of the highest rates in the UK? We’ll be supporting you to get that to around 121 litres per day. Over 10,000 customers have already started saving water with free water-saving tools, getting involved in challenges and earning rewards for community projects—are you ready to Get Water Fit?
With over 3,000km of pipes connecting our region’s water supply, we’re always looking for ways to improve how we move water around. We’ll be future proofing our water supply by upgrading a ‘booster’ at one of our pumping stations.
Helping to protect some of our country’s rarest chalk streams, the River Test and the River Itchen (pictured), the environmentally-led Havant Thicket Reservoir project will provide an alternative, sustainable source of water for our region, as well as for our neighbours in West Sussex and Hampshire.
