Founded by former UK Cabinet Minister, Rt Hon. Justine Greening, and UK entrepreneur David Harrison, the C-19 Business Pledge aims to harness the power of business as a force for good in tackling the Coronavirus epidemic.
Upon the launch of the C19-Business Pledge Rt Hon. Justine Greening said, “We understand businesses across the globe are working hard to ensure they are able to continue in this turbulent time. We acknowledge that this will involve difficult decisions, but for those that can, we are asking them to help in the global effort with their employees, customers and communities. By mobilising that collective effort, we can support those most in need through this crisis.”
Bob Taylor, Portsmouth Water CEO, when asked to sign the pledge said, “I am delighted on behalf of Portsmouth Water to put my name to this pledge – throughout this challenging time our community centric ethos has come to the forefront of our thinking once again. We have been active in prioritising those customers who are isolated and vulnerable, ensuring they can easily access our specialist support services. In addition we have worked hard to protect the health, safety and well-being of our staff; this is paramount as without great people we would not be able to deliver our critical core water service needed by all.”
“We are very conscious of the important role we have to play across our communities during this crisis. I am therefore proud to sign this pledge as a clear demonstration of our community centric ethos.”
