Burst Main on Havant Road, Hayling Island- Update 5.45pm 14th June 2019

We are pleased to confirm that the broken section of main in Havant Road has now been repaired. This is now being re-filled with water, after which pressures across the Island should return to normal over the course of the evening.  Pending full restoration of supplies, we would appreciate customers using water sparingly, in order to protect supplies to all customers.

Whilst the pipe has been repaired, we now need to focus on repairing and resurfacing the damaged section of Havant Road. We expect this work to be concluded overnight, with the road open as normal tomorrow.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank customers for bearing with us over this very challenging day. We understand that needing to close Havant Road at the site of the burst really does impact massively on traffic flow, causing significant delays for road users.
