Burst Main on Havant Road, Hayling Island- Update 2.45pm 14th June 2019

Supplies have been largely restored to Hayling Island, but the water pressure is likely to be lower than normal today for many residents and is likely to reduce further during peak demand which is typically early evening.

We are working to repair our broken main and expect this to be completed by this evening but it may not be fully operational for the start of the evening peak. We would be really grateful if customers can try to keep usage to a minimum around teatime, as this will help to ensure that everyone on Hayling retains a water supply.

Closing Havant Road, whilst essential, is clearly causing significant traffic congestion. We have received Police assistance in getting essential repair materials to the site to ensure that we complete the work as quickly as possible.
